Operation Shock

afpop is proud to be working with the Federação de Bombeiros do Algarve to provide lifesaving equipment for use by the region's first response teams in OPERATION SHOCK. Currently only INEM emergency ambulances come equipped with lifesaving defibrillator equipment installed. OPERATION SHOCK aims to provide a unit to be installed in one Red ambulance in each Bombeiros command, giving trained Bombeiros staff the ability to save lives of patients whose condition may deteriorate at the scene of an incident or while being transported to hospital. Rui Coimbra and Joel Rendall, a Portuguese and a Canadian, set about trying to help people who move to Portugal to learn European Portuguese, in a fun and different way.
