Portugal Resident

The Portugal Resident is the Algarve's top-selling paid-for English-language newspaper. It was first published in 1989 and has appeared, uninterrupted, every week since, continually developing in format and content to meet the needs of its readers and advertisers. The newspaper relies on a highly experienced team of staff journalists and specialised freelance writers to offer a unique insight into life in the Algarve and in Portugal with a strong focus on the local expat community combined with selective in-depth coverage of national news. Additional lifestyle content on travel, culture and gastronomy help make the newspaper the favourite weekly read for many thousands of expatriates living in the Algarve. The print edition is available for sale across the region whilst the website is one of Portugal's most important online resources for news in English. Since 2012, the Portugal Resident has been a part of the Open Media group of publications with various magazines in Portugal and Madeira.
