Information Bulletins

The Information Bulletin system is a comprehensive source of information on a wide raging list of subjects, from car importation and setting up a bank account, to Wills, IRS payment dates and includes sections on motoring, health, property rental and purchasing, inheritance planning and many more. The full list of Bulletins can be seen below. The Information Bulletins are regularly updated and are available free of charge to afpop Members, either on request or by downloading them from the Members' area.

General information bulletins cover the areas on Domestic Staff, Consulates, Lawyers, Accountants, Gardening Services, Starting a Business and Pets and Dog Licence

Habitation bulletins cover the Habitation licence, Rates Document, Property Title Deed, Land Registry Certificate, Building Contractors, Rental Management, Construction, Property Management, Buying and Selling, Rental, Monitoring Developments Adjacent, Condominium Regulations and Holiday Rental Licence.

Insurance related bulletins cover the following kind of insurance in seperate bulletins: House Insurance, Car Insurance, Health/Medical Insurance and Travel Insurance.

Bulletins about Leisure will speak of Gardens, Boats and Fishing and Fresh Water Fishing in Portugal.

Motoring information bulletins informs you of Permission to Drive, Car Documents, Road/car Tax, Importing a car, Buying and Selling cars, Road + Worthiness Inspection and Certificate and Automatic Motorway Tolls.         

Notary: Pre-Death Planning, Winding up an Estate, Marriage, Divorce, Births, Wills, Death and Burial I, Death and Burial II.

Paperwork section of the bulletins covers several related issues such as Taxation Card, Residence - EU Citizens, Residence and Visa - Non EU, Driving Licence, Electors Card, Birth Certificate, Leaving Portugal, Occupation Contract, Dates for your diary, Documents you must carry and Medical card.

The Schooling is all about Schools Availability, Grants and Supports and Learning the Portuguese Language 

Taxation section will cover the most common tax issues for idividuals, such as Income Tax IRS, Property Tax IMI, Inheritance Tax, Corporate Income Tax IRC, Property Transfer Tax IMT, Value Added Tax IVA and Capital Gain Tax        

Utilities section covers Electricity, Telephone, Post Office, Water and Gas

Government section will tell you about the  Political Parties and the several Police forces in Portugal
