SUPPORT FOR THE VICTIMS OF THE FIRES IN LEIRIA
The thoughts of afpop are with the victims of the weekend's dreadful fires in Leiria and with the emergency services who responded and continue to respond to fight the fires and attend to the victims. The government bank, Caixa Géral de Depositos, has opened an account for donations to assist the victims and we include here the statement from CGD and the bank account details.

We are delighted to introduce a new initiative, in collaboration with our friends at Practice Portuguese.

There are several ways to learn a new language, but one of the problems with the Portuguese language is that there are two versions, European and Brazillian. Rui Coimbra and Joel Rendall, a Portuguese and a Canadian, set about trying to help people who move to Portugal to learn European Portuguese, in a fun and different way.
