1. Situation of Alert prolonged 2. Travel 3. Train strike 4. Satellite offices--Désolé, pas de traduction française disponible --

Hello to you all and welcome to this Member Briefing, which sadly again includes information about yet more disruption for travellers. There is also news about the updated Civil Protection website, giving access to information about fires as we approach the height of summer.

On 15th of June we will be joining the Open Media roadshow once again at the Cascade resort near Lagos, with the next edition of the Living in the Algarve seminars, more details of which can be found on the website https://www.livinginthealgarve.pt/. These events are free to attend, but they do ask that you register in advance on the website, so they can make sure they have catered sufficiently. Perhaps the team and I will see you there.

Following strike dates have been announced:

Lisbon airport: 27th to 29th of May, 3rd to 5th of June, 10th to 12th of June, 17th to 19th of June, 24th to 26th of June – always between 05h00-10h00

Beira Alta Line
The complete renovation of the Beira Alta Line (Linha da Beira Alta - LBA) is one of the fundamental works of the Corredor Internacional Norte, which will allow for a safer and faster rail link between the center and north of the country and the border with Spain.
In the 193 kilometers between Pampilhosa and Vilar Formoso, several works are underway, which are part of the complete renovation of the track, including the construction of some variants, the renovation of ten stations, the elimination of seven level crossings and the installation of electronic signaling.
One of the most relevant works of this project is the construction of the Concordance of Mealhada, for a more efficient connection to the Northern Line, significantly improving trips to Lisbon and Porto.
The Corredor Internacional Norte project also includes the complete renovation and electrification of the Beira Baixa Line, between Covilhã and Guarda, which is already in operation.

easyJet strikes
easyJet crew members in Portugal started their five-day strike in May and June today.
The strike will cover all flights carried out by easyJet as well as other services to which cabin crew members are assigned. The dates are 26th, 28th and 30th of May and 1st and 3rd of June. Cancelled flights will be reimbursed. There is no news on the easyJet website (yet), but you can check your flights here:

ISV Tax motorhomes
There is news for Members who are planning to import a foreign registered motorhome to Portugal. The ISV tax for importation of motorhomes (table B) will remain the same this year with a rate of 30% of the total ISV, but it will increase progressively to 40% in 2024, 60% in 2025 and 80% in 2026 and 100% in 2027, meaning that by 2027 you will have to pay 100% of ISV tax. If you want to import your motorhome, do it soon!
