This beautiful beach is located near Seia, in the heart of the Serra da Estrela Natural Park, on the banks of the River Caniça. Nearby are massive granite rocks, one of the region’s largest and oldest chestnut forests, and a Roman bridge, the Ponte da Caniça. From there, a footpath leads to the Buraco da Moura (an ancient cave dwelling) and to a viewpoint from which you can see the waterfalls.

There is a beach bar, a picnic area with barbecue and facilities. The beach also has a first-aid post and car parks. Access to the bathing area is via a ramp, and a lifeguard ensures everyone’s safety.

In 2017, the beach was awarded the ‘Accessible Beach – Beach for All!’ flag.
