The Speakers

Daisy Sampson
Daisy first moved to Portugal over 20 years ago and lives in the central Algarve with her teenage daughters and Canadian partner. As the CEO of afpop, the largest association of foreign residents in Portugal, she and the dedicated team provide members with a comprehensive range of information, services and support. Over the past 40 years, afpop has helped over 37,000 members navigate their way around living, working and enjoying Portugal, and currently has a membership of over 9,000 active members.

Margarida Ferreira
Graduated in Psychology with a Master’s degree in Neuropsychology and Cognitive Neuroscience. Specialised in Clinical and Health Psychology and a member of the Portuguese Psychologists’ Association. Currently works at the Algarve Branch of Alzheimer Portugal, where provides psychological support, neuropsychological assessments, cognitive training and group activities for people with dementia and their carers/family members.

Tania Camilo
Physiotherapist with more than 25 years of experience and CEO of Tecnifisio – Specialised Physiotherapy and Wellbeing. At the beginning of her career, she dedicated herself to the treatment of neurological conditions, working mainly with children. Over the past 20 years, she has specialised in Paediatrics as well as Women’s Health, which are currently her main areas of practice. Vice-President of the Mamativa Association and Co-founder of the Algarve Breast Cancer Congress.

Arlindo Martins
Arlindo Martins is the founder of Empowered Ageing and a Movement Coach dedicated to helping mature adults improve strength, mobility, balance, coordination and confidence through movement. He holds a degree in Sports Science, completed a Personal Training specialisation in Australia, and brings over 30 years of experience in physical education, martial arts, functional movement and coaching. He is also a motivational public speaker, focused on helping people reconnect with purpose, confidence and vitality as they age. Through Empowered Ageing, Arlindo developed a practical approach to healthy ageing that combines movement training, fall prevention, body awareness and motivational coaching, helping people stay active, independent and confident.

Adriana Sales
Adriana Sales is a registered Nutritionist (CP 2094N) with a degree in Dietetics and Nutrition from the University of Algarve and over ten years of experience in clinical nutrition and health promotion. Passionate about helping people improve their health and quality of life, Adriana combines evidence-based nutrition with practical, personalised strategies tailored to individual lifestyles and health goals. Her areas of expertise include healthy ageing, longevity, preventive health, digital health, and the Mediterranean diet. During this seminar, Adriana will share valuable insights into how nutrition can support long-term wellbeing, helping participants make informed choices to enhance their health, vitality and independence at every stage of life.

Lagos Câmara
The municipality of Lagos covers an area of 217.6 square kilometres, divided into the parishes of Barão de São João, Bensafrim, Luz, Odiáxere, and Santa Maria and São Sebastião, which together make up the town itself.
Lagos is located 78 km from the regional capital, Faro, and 37 km from Cape St Vincent, on the coast of the wide and beautiful bay that bears its name, near the mouth of the Bensafrim stream. It boasts a series of beaches surrounded by spectacular rock formations, shaped by the continuous force of the sea. This seminar will take place in the Auditorium within the Lagos Town Hall building.
