At afpop we don’t look for general answers to our Members’ questions. We don’t give answers based on influence from commerce or sponsors and we don’t leave our Members wondering if they have the complete picture. We are PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE and, whilst it’s not free to be a Member, for the price of a Portuguese coffee a week, you have the peace of mind of knowing that when you ask our team a question, the answer you get will be up to date, obtained from official sources and correctly translated.
But why afpop Information?
The world is rapidly being given over to Artificial Intelligence- or A.I. - with more and more businesses and people believing that what AI tells them in answer to their questions is what they need to know. But CAN YOU TRUST it?
Of course there are many good uses for A.I., but are you willing to risk making complicated and often expensive decisions on what a random search by an unaccountable algorithm tells you?
A.I. is not a search engine and its results are taken from various sources, which means that it doesn’t differentiate between those sources. In many cases those sources are out of date, or worse, expired! A random website or post on the internet and a government website are often given the same weight, even where there are clear differences.
Often the results are taken from expired sources or from sites that are not regularly updated.
A.I. uses on-line translations to present information from Portuguese into your language. It is not translated by native speakers to ensure accuracy.
In many instances, A.I. used in place of a search engine gives the same result as just using the "I’m Feeling Lucky" button on a Google search.
A.I. - whichever system you use, doesn’t care if it’s given you the correct answer or the complete information.
A.I. is what it says it is … artificial!
