Driving in Portugal/Autofahren in Portugal
Together with our Alliance Partners, Medal Seguros, we have produced an updated version of the Driving in Portugal booklet, incorporating the new rules of the Portuguese Highway code. The booklet is available in English and German language. --As nossas desculpas por este artigo não ter tradução --
In this booklet you will see a list of documents you are obliged to carry, as well as how to deal with the police if you are stopped for any reason. It also includes the basic rules for safe driving in Portugal, including the new regulations. It gives an explanation of the general rules on the Highway Code and on the speed limits that apply. It also offers advice on what to do if you are involved in an accident, how to fill out an accident report form and when you must involve the police.
Please note that this book is not a full translation of the complete Highway Code.
Any Member may collect a copy free of charge from the afpop office, satellite offices, Medal offices, roadshows and afpop area events.
If you would like a copy to be sent by post to you in Portugal, please send €2 worth of stamps to the afpop office along with your updated address and a copy will be posted to you.
