THE TEAM
afpop's professional staff, working from the office in Portimão, assists the voluntary Management Council and Area Event Organisers to help you make the most of living and working in Portugal .
afpop is administered by a Management Council (MC), elected annually by the membership at the AGM. The MC members are all afpop members who, on a voluntary basis, undertake to run the Association on behalf of the membership.
The Fiscal Council (FC) is a separate group of three elected members (once again members of the Association), who audit the Association annually and provide guidance to the MC regarding the Portuguese law and Association's Statutes.
Area Event Organisers are also volunteers, situated throughout Portugal, who provide social support to members in their respective areas and provide another link for members with the Office.
The day to day running of the Association is undertaken by the paid office staff, who all have specific roles within the organisation and provide administrative support to the Councils and Area Event Organisers, as well as helping members to find the answers to their many and varied questions.
